get the ‘flora’ factor with this bouquet workshop

The Pop-Up shop on Dukes Lane has played host to some incredible local talent over the past months, from street art to ‘tits’ tea towels and now, in the words of that 2000 Sweet Female Attitude song we all know and love, we bring you flowers just in time for Mother’s Day. We’re big fans of treating ourselves to a bright bunch of joy and bring spoilt with the likes of Gunns in Brighton & Hove, it’s hard to walk past without picking up some local blooms. With Mothering Sunday this weekend, now is just a good as time as any to get the skills to do your own beautiful flower arrangement, right? And that’s exactly what you can do thanks to local legends, Bettie Rose Flowers and Katherine Bly Flowers.

Now you can add the ‘flora’ factor to your life, by learning to make your very own spring bouquet in one of their 90-minute workshops this weekend. You’ll find out how to cut and condition flowers, hand tie and spiral your stems, as well as learning two wrapping techniques to keep your flowers hydrated while heading home (…or to your recipient’s destination if you’re feeling generous).

The dream floral team will bring everything you need including the most beautiful seasonal spring flowers they can get their green fingers on. The challenge will be whether you can bring yourself to give your creation away or keep it for yourself. Hmmm. If you’re looking for a gift for Mother’s Day then we’d recommend treating them to the class and then you both get one. Not to mention some special hang out time with mama.
