book now: botanical illustration workshop

If you see yourself as a budding artist or simply want to unleash your creative side under the influence of one of Brighton’s best illustrators, then Wednesday’s botanical illustration workshop is the perfect mid-week place for you. You better be quick to book your place though, as there are only a couple of tickets left!

Known for her drawings and paintings of animals, birds and wild places (yes – that famous Tits bird poster we know and love), illustrator Sarah Edmonds will be setting up a studio on the Greenhouse Terrace at Emmaus Brighton for the botanical illustration workshop. Join her on Wednesday 8th August from 2pm to 4pm and you’ll find out about the techniques she uses to create her images and then have a go at creating your own.

You’ll learn how to use ink, watercolour and crayon to draw plants from a selection in the Emmaus Greenhouse, producing a collection of original pieces to take home. Who needs to buy artwork when you can create your own!

Emmaus is a charity that helps people move on from homelessness by providing them with a home and meaningful work in a supportive environment. The Greenhouse is a pretty special place that sells indoor and outdoor plants alongside second-hand gardening goods, most of which are grown onsite or donated by members of the public. As well as your artwork, you’ll also take home your very own plant which has been lovingly propagated onsite at Emmaus. We love this!
