Every October, Brighton’s Best Restaurants develop £20 menus in a celebration of the incredible food scene here in Brighton, Hove and wider Sussex. This year, a whopping twenty-eight of the best got involved, giving punters the chance to try their amazing menus for a bargain price. In the second and final week, with the festival finishing on Sunday 20th October, we’ve discovered where you can still get your hungry mitts on an OctoberBest menu. Happy eating!
A pizza Italy at Fatto a Mano
A BOTI favourite, Fatto a Mano has smashed it again this year creating an incredibly delicious and affordable OctoberBest menu that giving diners the chance to share two starters or sides and two woodfired pizzas for just £20. Yep, that’s a tenner each for two generous courses, Monday to Thursday across all three sites. Get down there over the next few days and give one of their incredible OctoberBest specials a try, as they’ve created four of them. From Beal’s Pancetta and Barfield’s Chorizo to Sussex Blue and Autumn Squash, anything you don’t finish you can take home in a box!

Sea-view lunch special
The Salt Room still have some lunchtime availability for their impressive three-course menu. Tuck into their cured south coast mackerel, pickled beetroot and wasabi starter, roasted hake, leek, nori, crispy oyster and brown butter main, followed by hot chocolate tart, orange and creme fraiche, washed down with a 125ml glass of Sicilian Grillo, all for just £20 per person. This mouth-watering menu is available every lunchtime until Friday so get in there quick!

Smokey specials coming at ya
Over at their sister site The Coal Shed, their smokey specials are still on the menu. Head there for a tasty lunch break and not only will you get a negroni on arrival, but you can also tuck into the choice of a smokey bun or smokey bowl, all for only £20 for two people… yep, that’s a tenner per head for a cocktail and lunch! If a bun based option (see feature image) is your thing, choose from Smoked Short Rib with vinegar slaw, crispy shallots and pickled chilli, Smoked Aubergine Cauliflower hash with coconut yogurt and harissa or Dorito Hake Jalapeno tartare, pickled fennel and cucumber. All served with shoestring fries and house pickles. The smokey bowl option (picture above) is served with wheatberry and flageolet, BBQ beetroot, charred sweet potato and house pickles. Fourth but not least…
Hove based Fourth & Church have also got a tasty lunch offering you can still try before OctoberBest is up! They are offering an Andalusian-inspired Dirty Martini plus three small plates at £20 per person. What. A. Bargain. Available daily between midday and 5.00pm until Thursday 17th October, you can choose a dish from three delicious sections on their menu. From smoked cod roe to Westcombe ricotta, green tea-poached monkfish to roasted and raw cauliflower, their delicious dishes are perfect for a lunchtime treat.
