blue man founder brings n african food to village

Two of our favourite places to eat are coming together – North African restaurant and Brighton institution The Blue Man is bringing its tasty food to Hanover’s Village pub-cafe in the evenings!

Maji Bensliman – Magic – founded the original Blue Man cafe-bar (currently closed) some 20 years ago. A few years back, he opened cosy neighbourhood pub and top brunch destination Village, where he’ll now be cooking up a North African-flavoured storm.

The Algerian street food menu sounds bloody delicious and we can’t wait to try it. You’ll find cheesy Algerian dumplings with harissa mayo, homemade falafel, spiced cauliflower koftas, charmoula chicken, merguez and, of course, The Blue Man’s signature tagine (vegetable or lamb-based) and an Algerian classic, the frite omelette – rosemary fries, egg and harissa – yum!

And don’t worry, those famous brunches aren’t going anywhere – we checked! Plus, both the brunch menu and The Blue Man menu are part of the August ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ half-price scheme, so there’s no excuse not to give it a go!

Over lockdown, The Blue Man menu is available to collect from the pub Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm to 9pm or order for delivery via Deliveroo
