book now: brighton’s first self-love sessions

We all need to learn to love ourselves a little bit more, so lucky for us, the team at BelongCon – The Belong Conversation – are launching The Self Love Sessions, kicking off with ‘Love Yourself First’ on Wednesday 13th February, which just so happens to be the International Day of Self Love. Now isn’t that romantic…

And who wouldn’t want an evening of talks, performances and, um… love. We are most definitely in. Starting the sessions off with an evening of conversations and explorations into the relationship we have with ourselves, guests are guaranteed to leave feeling empowered and full of love thanks to hearing from inspiring speakers including Sophie Tanner (the Brightonian who married herself – pictured above – remember? And who’s got a book on the subject coming out soon!), who will tell us what she’s learned about self-compassion and self-acceptance on her quest for ‘happily ever now’.

As the calendar flipped over into a new year, there’s been a lot of talk about how 2019 should be the year you learn to love yourself first, so where better to start than with Brighton’s first self-love session? There will also be talks from Michelle Roberton who will take us through body love and intimacy (she’s a tantric teacher, don’t you know), Joshua Vine on confidence and cabaret, Lucy Rowett on why self-love means putting your pleasure first, and Robert Potter on the beautiful contradiction of learning to love.

And when you think you’re nearly self-loved out, there’ll be an expert panel Q&A tackling the neuroscience of heartbreak. Apparently, the neurotransmitters and neuropeptides released when you’re in love are as addictive as cocaine. So love really is a drug, yikes.

Ready for some self-love? We’ll see you there…
